Why use a Recruiter when I can post a job online?
With talent shortages and a rapidly evolving hiring landscape, advertising alone is insufficient when it comes to finding the ideal professional. An online posting may not set you apart from the competition, but a well-informed recruiting partner will.
A recruiting partner ensures that your opportunity reaches the desk of the talent you want. In a candidate’s market, professionals typically have several companies vying for their attention. It’s a Recruiter’s job to market your unique opportunity to the individuals you desire and educate them on what sets your company apart from the competition.
How long does the recruitment process take?
On average, it takes between four and eight weeks from the initiation of the search to the execution of an offer. Each search is unique and comes with its own set of challenges, varying the timeline significantly. The following are a sample of factors to be considered when assessing the potential timeline for hire: existing local talent pool and potential shortages due to competition in certain markets, degree of niche qualifications and experience desired, length of internal interview process, whether the position has been made public, requirement for candidate relocation. Any one of these variables can significantly impact the length of the hiring process. One of our recruitment experts will be happy to offer a complimentary assessment of your specific search.
Should I work with more than one Recruiter?
This is a common mistake companies make. More isn’t always better when it comes to finding the right fit for your position. While casting a wide net may be alluring, it doesn’t guarantee that you will find the right candidate, only that you will find more candidates.
Working with multiple Recruiters adds to your workload. You create double or triple the calls and emails as well as multiply the candidates to assess and disqualify. This can cause delays in the search, or lead to the same burdensome process you hired a Recruiter to eliminate.
Another element to consider is that the number of candidates ideal for a given position is not infinite. If you are seeking specific skills, working with multiple Recruiters increases the odds that your ideal candidate is contacted by multiple professionals. This can cause candidates to be weary of the opportunity, potentially hindering their desire to pursue the position.
